Cold Hands, Warm Hearts

Yesterday was cold, wet, and honestly—I should’ve worn a jacket. But despite the weather, something amazing happened. My friend Kate and I set up a little bake sale outside the Klahanie QFC, and in just four hours, we raised about $250 for Charlie Cares!

We sold cookies and cake, packaged in bags that I decorated with stickers I designed myself. I even made flyers about Charlie Cares and had them laminated (which ended up being a really smart move because…rain). Even though our fingers were freezing, our hearts were warm because so many people stopped by, supported us, and asked about what we’re doing. I love my community. Seriously—it’s filled with the most beautiful and generous people.

A huge thank you to Kate, who helped out the entire time. She brought such great energy, and I’m so happy to say she had so much fun that she’s agreed to help me even more with Charlie Cares going forward. Having friends like her makes everything feel even more meaningful.

This was more than just a bake sale. It was a reminder that small things—like cookies, stickers, and showing up—can come together to make a big difference. And that’s what Charlie Cares is all about.

Thanks again to everyone who stopped by, donated, or cheered us on. I can’t wait to do more with you all.
