Help the Light Break Through

“We struggle to live, and yet I am happy for another day.”

These are the words of Patrick Wesonga, a man from Bungoma, Kenya. He inspires me every day with his determination.

Life in Patrick’s village isn’t easy. Poverty affects nearly everyone, forcing families to work tirelessly just to survive. Patrick is no stranger to these challenges—balancing long days of fieldwork, chores, and studying—but he doesn’t let them define him.

"Life is a journey," Patrick told me. "I must take steps and learn from those who came before me to understand how to succeed. I believe no one is born rich or poor; it is life, with its challenges, that shapes us."

Through your generosity, Patrick is finding his way forward. He calls it “the light breaking through.” That light is his education at Kibabii University, where he’s excelling in his studies and studying to become a teacher.

But to keep going, Patrick needs our help. Right now, we’re working to raise $900 by January 5th to cover his second semester tuition. Your donation will help Patrick stay in school and continue pursuing his dream of using education to uplift his community.

Patrick believes deeply in the power of education. "Education is the key to life," he told me. "And I am grateful for the steps we are taking to ensure I can learn, succeed, and one day help others in need."

Will you help Patrick take those next steps? Every contribution—big or small—makes a difference.

Patrick also wanted me to share these words with you: “May your hands never lack but always have plenty to share with others. Thank you for being a source of hope and inspiration.”

Thank you for believing in Patrick and helping light break through.

With gratitude,
Charlie
