Navigating the Rainy Seasons Together

Hi everyone,

I hope you all had an amazing Thanksgiving surrounded by family, friends, and good food! As we step into December, I wanted to share a few updates from both here in Issaquah and from across the globe in Bungoma, Kenya, where your generosity is making an incredible difference.

First, let’s talk about Bungoma. It’s been a rainy season over there, with heavy downpours creating challenges for the farmers we work with. Patrick and the team have been hard at work constructing diversion channels to keep excess water from flooding the maize fields. Thanks to their quick action—and the tools and resources we’ve been able to provide because of you—the maize is staying healthy and strong. It’s a real reminder of how even something as simple as a shovel can make a huge difference when the weather doesn’t cooperate.

Your support has given Patrick and the other farmers the ability to adapt to these challenges. They’re not just growing food; they’re building resilience and a better future for their families. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for being part of this journey with us.

Back here in the Seattle area, we’ve had some weather adventures of our own! A couple of weeks ago, a big storm rolled through, and my family ended up without power for a whole week. It was a pretty wild experience—lots of candles, extra blankets, and trying to get creative with meals. It wasn’t easy, but it gave me a lot of time to reflect on how much we rely on things like electricity and how lucky we are to have power. It also made me think about the families in Bungoma who face even bigger challenges daily and how your donations help provide the tools they need to overcome them.

As we head into the holiday season, I’m more grateful than ever for this community. Your kindness and generosity inspire me every day. Together, we’re doing something amazing—not just giving aid, but planting seeds of hope that will grow into something sustainable and lasting.

Thank you again for being part of this journey with me. I can’t wait to share more updates soon!

Wishing you a season filled with love, joy, and hope.

Warmly,

Charlie
