Hi everyone,
It’s Charlie here from Seeds of Hope. I want to share an important update with you about our sixth planting and the situation we're facing right now in Bungoma, Kenya.
Thanks to your support, we’ve raised enough funds to plant two out of our four fields this season. That’s a huge achievement, and I’m so grateful for everyone who has donated so far. Every dollar has truly made a difference. But we’re only halfway there.
Right now, we are desperately trying to raise enough money to plant the remaining two fields. That means we need to purchase more maize seeds and fertilizer as soon as possible. Timing is everything. The long rains have just started in Bungoma, and this short window is absolutely vital for getting crops in the ground. If we miss it, we lose the chance to grow food for families who are counting on these harvests to survive.
Our goal has always been to empower the community in Bungoma through sustainable farming, and it’s working. Over the past five plantings, we’ve grown and harvested maize that has fed hundreds of people in the village. This sixth planting is just as important, if not more, because the need is so high right now.
The two fields we’ve already planted are a great start, but four fields would double the food we can provide. These aren’t just fields. They represent full plates and nourished children - and the dignity that comes with being able to eat and share food within your own community.
If you can give anything at all - five dollars, ten, or more - please know that it will go directly to buying seeds and fertilizer. Even small donations add up quickly and can be the difference between planting and waiting another season.
Thank you, truly, for standing with us. This is a moment of real urgency, but also of real hope. Together, we can get these last two fields planted and make sure no one goes hungry.
With deep gratitude,
Charlie
