Hi, everyone! I’m Charlie Martin, and I’m excited to share a little bit about the journey we’re on with Seeds of Hope.

I may only be ten years old, but I believe that anyone, at any age, can make a difference in the world. That’s why I started Charlie Cares—a charity organization born from the simple idea that with compassion and a helping hand, we can make our world a better place for everyone.

Right now, I want to tell you about a small village in Kenya called Bungoma, where every meal is uncertain and families struggle daily just to find enough to eat. Can you imagine that? We have a narrow window to change this reality, as the planting season is in full swing, but time is running out. The people of Bungoma desperately need seeds to plant, and without them, they face another season of hunger.

Due to rising costs, the village doesn’t have enough money to purchase the seeds they need. My goal is to raise $5,000 to buy these seeds and get them into the hands of the farmers who can grow them into life-sustaining crops. Not only will these crops provide food for the community, but any surplus will be sold to help fund other essential needs like clean water, medicine, education, and clothing.

Here’s a little more about the seeds we’re looking to buy:

  • Hybrid 505, Hybrid 51, Hybrid 514, Hybrid 614: $10 per packet

  • Hybrid Sungura, Hybrid Tembo, Hybrid DK 777, Hybrid 8031: $12 per packet

We’ll be purchasing the seeds from Ronak Agrovet, LTD, a local seed bank that offers high-quality options suitable for the region. These seeds are the key to unlocking a future where no one in Bungoma goes hungry.

I’m incredibly thankful to have Patrick Wesonga on our team. Patrick is based in Bungoma and is a close friend of my dad, Yves Martin. He’s generously stepped forward to help us distribute the seeds to local farmers. With Patrick’s support, we can be sure that every seed sown will bring about positive change.

But we need your help to make this happen. The planting season ends in mid-September, so time is of the essence. Every moment—and every donation—counts. Together, we can cultivate change in Bungoma and watch as our seeds of hope grow into a brighter, more secure future for the entire community.

Thank you for being a part of this journey with me. Every seed of hope, no matter how small, can yield a world of change.

Will you help me sow the Seeds of Hope?

Let's grow something amazing together. 🌱
