Third Planting is Tassling

I’m so excited to share an update on our third planting at Seeds of Hope! The corn is thriving—it’s already tasseling, which is amazing to see. Every time I get news from the farm, it’s inspiring to hear how quickly everything is growing. Patrick, our lead farmer, said, “This season is giving us hope! The crops are healthy, and with a little more help, we’re looking at a strong harvest.”

Right now, the farmers are hard at work with cultivation and terracing. By managing the flow of water around the plants, they’re making sure each stalk is getting just the right amount. It’s not easy work, but it’s crucial, especially as the corn is so close to producing its kernels.

To give this crop the final boost it needs, we’re preparing for the second top dressing—another round of fertilizing to strengthen the plants for harvest. My dad is sending some funds to help cover this next step, but if anyone else feels moved to contribute, we would be so grateful. Every little bit makes a big difference in helping the farmers keep up this momentum!
