Third Planting Success

Hey everyone!

I’m so excited to share some great news about our third planting donation period! Thanks to your generosity, we raised enough money to plant one field of maize in Bungoma. While this is fewer fields than we planted in our first two rounds, it’s still a huge step forward in growing food for families in need. I can’t thank you enough for helping make this possible!

Now that we’ve planted the maize, the next big step is ensuring it grows as strong and healthy as possible. That’s where fertilizer comes in. Maize, like all crops, needs certain nutrients to thrive, especially nitrogen, which is super important for the plant's growth. Nitrogen helps the maize grow tall and produce a lot of kernels, but maize also needs phosphorus and potassium for strong roots and healthy kernel formation. Without these nutrients, the plants won’t yield nearly as much, meaning less food for the families we’re trying to help.

Right now, we’re raising money to buy the fertilizer that’s critical for a good harvest. The good news is, we have one week to make it happen! If we can apply the fertilizer in time, we’ll give the plants everything they need to grow to their full potential.

Thank you again for your continued support! If you’ve already donated, you’re helping change lives in Bungoma, and I couldn’t be more grateful. If you haven’t had a chance yet, there’s still time to make a difference. Together, we can make sure this harvest is the best one yet.
